Who We Are
The three founding directors, a Jew, a Christian and a Muslim, are working together for peace and justice by offering the American public media which shows another side of Middle Eastern issues.
AF has over twenty producers who help with every aspect of video production, broadcasting, and dvd distribution to libraries and schools.
Several independent video producers are affiliated with Alternate Focus and make their documentaries available to us for broadcast. Nationally recognized organizations are working with us as suppliers of content and as distributors. We continue to seek affiliation with producers, distributors, and interested organizations.
In July 2004, Alternate Focus was granted the status of a nonprofit corporation under Tax Code 501C-3. This makes the organization eligible for grants and enables us to receive tax-deductible donations .
Our Mission
We are dedicated to offering the American public media that provides balance to existing coverage of Middle East and related issues.
Ways to Help Alternate Focus
Make a Donation
Make a tax-deductible donation to help pay for video cameras, microphones, tapes, editing equipment, DVD materials, shipping, and other essential supplies.
Bring Alternate Focus Programs to a New Region
We need your help to bring Alternate Focus to viewers across the country. All you need to do is submit a one-page form to your local cable TV station and then deliver to them the tapes we send you once a month. Call or e-mail us if you are interested.
Donate Alternate Focus DVD’s to your Local Library
We would like to introduce our documentaries to libraries across the country. For $100, we can place an Alternate Focus DVD package in the library of your choice. Please call or email for more details.
Bring Your Documentary to Alternate Focus
Alternate Focus would like to showcase your compelling and appropriate videos on our weekly, national television broadcast project. Now is the time for all of us to work together in the media to bring a balance to what is being broadcast to American audiences. By broadcasting your films to a nationwide audience, we will help to provide this neccessary balance. In addition, your film/s will benefit from receiving national exposure. Please call or e-mail us if you have a Middle East-related documentary.

If you are in the San Diego area, you can get free training in filming, scriptwriting, research, editing, and post-production.
